Less of You; More of Me

The weight

Of you pulls me under

Threatening my very core

To forgo my presence

In trade for yours

But gravity tells tales

Under water

So as I wash up on shore

Battered or bruised

Sea salted

And sunburned

It’s my two feet

Not your current

That will carry me through
