They Don’t Know

They don’t know you‬
‪Or me for that matter‬
‪The pain you caused‬
‪Or the marks you left‬
‪How could I expect‬
‪They’d understand‬
‪When maybe‬
‪They don’t‬
‪How every time‬
‪I sit‬
‪On the other end‬
‪Of a telephone‬
‪Stranded in call waiting‬
‪I’m used to this purgatory‬
‪Not being let in‬
‪Not being let out‬
‪Just a dead line‬
‪And it’s hard not to see ‬
‪How anything could be different‬
‪Now it’s just new marks‬
‪Being added to the old ones‬
