The Long Kiss Gone

Quiet calm and

Peace to some

But to my heart

Only silence resounds

The void of my heart

Echoing the loss of love

Left outside the door

The longing

For once was

Laying across the sheets

Cold and alone

Wondering if I was worth

Even an ounce of his return

For every touch

Every whisper gone

Of tender devotion

Sweeping caresses across my hip

Swollen lips from every kiss

My heart still remembers

And the nights are the longest

Waiting for morning to return
